nice to meet you

From the wilds of advertising, to the remote Alaskan Wilderness, to global impact
Kerri got her start in the ad business, including pivotal early days at Wieden + Kennedy and a seven-year stint as a marketing consultant while she ran a sea kayaking lodge, living 'off the grid' in SE Alaska. Kerri ultimately landed at Nike in Portland, Oregon, where she held a variety of key leadership roles, including Global Marketing VP of NikeWomen and Integrated Retail Marketing, a first iteration of what is now called Consumer Direct Marketing, as well as leading brand communications for the Beijing ’08 Olympics (living with her family in Shanghai, China).
The through line in her nearly three decades of experience is a deep respect for the consumer-right, team-building impact generated by leading with compassion, while powering both brand and business. Today, this instinct is amplified through a distinctive focus on crafting authentic stories that move people personally and resonate in deeply meaningful ways.

Building an organization's culture and shaping its evolution is the unique and essential function of leadership.

Kerri taps into this time-honed knowledge and remixes it with fresh takes and deep learning to inspire and motivate leaders worldwide to build new practices for themselves and their teams. She joined with her sisters to launch The Liberty Collective in 2018, designing and implementing bespoke programs that shift the norms of workplace culture and introduce human-centered leadership practices. Forged during the pandemic, she has had the honor of inspiring more than a thousand individuals, personally and in teams, ultimately accelerating the impact, elevation, and retention of dynamic, human-centric leaders.

Kerri believes in using her platform to stand up for and help lift her community.
As a breast cancer survivor, she was a founding member of the Nike MeetCancer employee network and served as board chair for the Oregon Food Bank. Kerri also dedicates a portion of her time and revenue (both personal and The LC) every year to provide leadership development for folks from historically marginalized and underrepresented communities.
Kerri is a proud mom to two young-adult daughters who inspire her every day as they navigate their own leadership journeys in a quest to positively impact this dramatically changing, often confounding world. She lives a peaceful and energizing life near the banks of the Willamette River, in a Southeast corner of Portland, Oregon.
